Ida is one of the larges sizes asteroids locked tightly in the asteroid belt, located between Mars and Jupiter, with a long irregular shape of about 35 x 15 x 13 miles. Though Ida is twice size of Gaspra it’s easy to recognize since it reflects 20 percent of its sunlight and is on of the few asteroids massive enough to posses a small moon (Dactyl). Due to this class S asteroids violent impacts formation history dated a bit earlier then 4.5 billion years ago it’s maintaining an axis rotation period of around 4 hours, 38 minutes. Ida’s 2.2 and 2.9 grams per cubic centimeter density, heavily cratered silicate based surface can support Blue Ridge Nebula Spaceline VTOL operations launched from the nearby Delta Hotel Space station.
The flight features a FAA AST certified carpeted cabin environments which supports a combination of nitrogen and oxygen supplied atmosphere of around 14.7 psid, gravity based hygiene maintenance areas, such as lavatories as well as passenger safety / recreation jettison pods as well as opportunity to dock with the BRNS Delta Hotels rotating spacestations.
