Mathilde is one of the larger asteroids locked tightly in the asteroid belt, located between Mars and Jupiter, with a diameter measurement 33 miles. Though Mathilde is approximately twice the size of Gaspra because of its darker then coal colored surface, which only reflects 3% of sunlight, its one of the hardest celestial based object to see optically. Due to this class C asteroids violent impacts formation history it is currently maintaining an extremely slow 415 hour axis rotation period. Mathilde’s 6 mile deep cratered surface can support Blue Ridge Nebula Spaceline VTOL operations launched from the nearby Delta Hotel Space station.
The flight features a FAA AST certified carpeted cabin environments which supports a combination of nitrogen and oxygen supplied atmosphere of around 14.7 psid, gravity based hygiene maintenance areas, such as lavatories as well as passenger safety / recreation jettison pods as well as opportunity to dock with the BRNS Delta Hotels rotating spacestations.
